Common uses

This medication is an anti-inflammatory for the digestive tract. Typically, it is used for Crohn's disease. It requires several days to take effect.

How to use this medication

This medication is typically used 3 times a day. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed.

It must be used regularly and continuously to maintain its beneficial effects. Be sure to keep an adequate supply on hand. This medication should be swallowed whole. It should not be split, crushed or chewed.

If you forget a dose, take it as soon as you remember -- unless it is almost time for your next dose. In that case, skip the missed dose. Do not double the next dose to catch up. This medication should be taken before a meal.

It is recommended to take this medication with water.

Possible side effects

In addition to its desired action, this medication may cause some side effects, notably:

• it may cause headaches;
• it may cause nausea or, rarely, vomiting;
• it may cause a sore throat;
• it may cause diarrhea;
• it may cause stomach ache;
• it may cause dizziness -- use caution when getting up from a lying or sitting position.

Storage information
